Clark Street Reimagined
Context
In August 2024, the City of Montréal announced the acquisition of a lot located at 1100-1102 rue Clark at a cost of $1.98 million. As the City also owns the two adjacent lots, 1092-1098 and 1104-1106 rue Clark, it has indicated that this strategic acquisition is to enable a non-market housing project with 45-60 units on site and it intends to resell those lots in the future to a partner committed to developing such project. The City also announced that this acquisition is part of the 2021-2026 Action Plan for the development of Chinatown, which enables concrete actions to protect the district’s heritage, enhance its quality of life, boost its commercial vitality and promote community collaboration.

The Project
With this opportunity in mind, we launched Clark Street Reimagined as a community-led initiative to develop a holistic vision of Clark Street, and a concept plan for a mixed-use housing project for the sites that the City has assembled to meet the diverse community needs and to facilitate needed change.
基于此机遇，我们启动了“克拉克街再想象”项目，旨在通过社区主导的方式，为克拉克街发展一个全面的愿景，设计一个集住宅和商业用途为一体的项目概念，以满足社区的多样化需求，推动必要的变革。
It is also the objective of the project to work with both Chinatown stakeholders and the non-profit housing sector to build community capacity in housing advocacy and delivery, and to develop tools to support community ownership of land and development in Chinatown.
